Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Hospital Therapy in 1966-1981. Lyudmila Yosifovna is our wonderful and beloved contemporary. In her youth, taking in a profession, she faced a dilemma: music, the love for which her mother instilled, and medicine, an example of the faithful service of which was her father. Medicine has won. In 1940 she entered the Moscow Medical Institute, studied in a scientific student circle under the guidance of Academician N.D. Strazhesko. Diploma with honors. Distribution to work in Odessa.
Further, 37 years of life were given to Odessa and its medical institute. Odessa has always been famous for its cardiologists of the highest class. Here professors A.M.Sigal, Ts.A.Levina, M.A.Yasinovsky, L.K.Korovitsky, an excellent connoisseur of electrocardiography G.F.Boyko became the teachers of Lyudmila Yosifovna. Under their influence, she was formed as a doctor, scientist, teacher.
One of the wise people noticed that discoveries are born where the knowledge of the teacher ends and the new knowledge of the student begins. Broad erudition, deep knowledge, the gift of scientific foresight of Lyudmila Yosifovna are reflected in the choice of scientific and practical areas of activity - the development of topical methods for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular pathology, and in particular coronary heart disease.
She proposed a method of fibrinolytic and anticoagulant therapy for acute myocardial infarction, which is essentially the prototype of modern thrombolytic therapy.
On her initiative and with the direct participation of the staff of her department, a specialized cardiological service was created in Odessa to provide assistance to patients with myocardial infarction: specialized ambulance teams - an acute myocardial infarction department with an intensive observation ward - a rehabilitation department for patients with myocardial infarction at the hospital stage (all at base 3 of the city clinical hospital) and the department of the sanatorium stage of rehabilitation (san. "Russia").
In the rehabilitation departments, not only residents of Odessa, but also Odessa, Kherson and Nikolaev regions were treated. All cardiologists of the city were theoretically and practically trained at the Department of Hospital Therapy. During the time of the head of the department, Lyudmila Yosifovna supervised two doctoral and more than 30 master's theses, brought up a galaxy of outstanding teachers, who are now the pride of the University.
The role of L.Y. Aleinikova in the development of the doctrine of marine medicine is significant: a new set of original methods for diagnosing diseases of the cardiovascular system in sailors during a voyage has been developed and implemented; the influence of the conditions of the World Ocean on the development of this pathology was studied. She headed the problematic commission on marine medicine of the Ministry of Health and the Southern Scientific Center of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, a member of the All-Union Problematic Commission "Man-Ocean". L.I. Aleinikova for a long time was the chairman of the regional societies of therapists and cardiologists. The meetings were held in the house of scientists. The hall was always crowded, the mood of listeners and participants was upbeat, as each meeting was prepared as a holiday.
Lyudmila Yosifovna was the organizer of the 10th congress of therapists of Ukraine brilliantly held in Odessa. She also organized one of the international conferences on the problems of marine medicine. The meetings were held on board a passenger liner that was cruising along the Chenomorsky coast. This scientific cruise is still remembered by the participants as one of the brightest pages of life.
